Caring for your gong

A brass gong will last for generations with a little care. [CARE NOTES: please check or add to the tips below.]

Hanging and placement

Hang your gong from its stand or a secure hook, with space all around so it can swing freely. Keep it away from radiators and damp areas.

Playing

Use the mallet that came with your gong. Start softly and build up gradually. [RECOMMENDED MALLETS AND PLAYING TIPS]

Cleaning

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after playing to remove fingerprints. Brass naturally darkens over time. [POLISHING ADVICE: whether to polish, and with what]

Moving and storage
